It works on the finding out what is it that we feel when something clicks, when people co-create, have lively discussions, make music together. What is happening that we feel something ‘click’ during these moments.

I finished The Late show. It was a fun experience readoing/listening to the book.
Spoilers ahead:
The big case is the death of four people at Dancers, a bar in LA. Our main character, Detective Ballard along with Jenkins who work late night shift are sent to the crime scene. But they are barred from getting actively involved as another department has taken over the case, headed by the Olivias, man responsible for Ballard being taken out of the department and sent to the late show.
Ballard along with solving her own cases gets actively involved in this case, off the books, when her former partner is murdered while he was trying to solve it.
The book was nice, with a good pace to always developing the story into something that keeps readers engaged. There was a lack characters whose lives we get to in depth. We do get to know Ballard since we see her in so many circumstances, interacting with others, making decision, and taking actions. But no one else we, get to see. Olivias, Chasten, Jenkins, tu tu, Crompton. They all appeared at different points and their lives, thoughts, and actions were not delved into detail.
Overall, pretty nice read to keep you entertained. If I have to point out two themes that the book covers, that would be:
Language and proceedings of lives of Police officers with a setting in LA
The novel gives you a generous peek into lives of police officers in LA, the culture, the discrimination if you go against the authorities.
Life of a women in LA
In a way this would be interpreted as a story of four women and their lives in LA.

A great detective who works hard, is pressured to get sexually involved with officers, if she wants to move up.
She complaint against her officer after he makes a move on her, forcing himself on her to kiss in a department party. And what does she gets in return? She is not backed by her detective partner, who was an eye witness. She is
